All we have is today. Maybe less. We aren't guaranteed our next breath. All we have is NOW, whenever that is for you. Every next moment is NOW and the ones, even a second ago, no longer exist. As crazy as that it, it has me humbled here on the second day of the New Year. How much time each day, each hour, each minute is wasted with useless worry and concern or contempt or simply wasted?
If we were honest with ourselves, the answer is probably most of it. How much time is spent in the word of God? How much time in Prayer? How much time investing in the lives of others?
So many things that could be done aren't or at least have not been done because opportunities are wasted.
I don't want my last breath to be wasted. I want to be "caught dead" doing what God called me to do. While I realize we can't spend every waking moment in ministry, we CAN have the attitude of Jesus in all that we say and do and even think and that's a start.
A resolution perhaps? Sure! I want the youth ministry to grow at my church and that starts with me not wasting opportunities...after all my next breath could be my last!
